Busy busy busy!!!

That’s what the next couple of years look like. We have world championships in July of 2023, followed by the Parapan American Games in Chile in November. Then, we have world championships in Kobe, Japan in May of 2024. After that is the Paralympic Trials, likely to be held in June. And it’ll all conclude with the 2024 Paralympics in Paris in August. I’ve been soaking up these past few months, preparing my mind for this two-year push. This year served as a fresh breath of air as I’ve been able to rest and relax. This time is slowly coming to an end.

Structured training will most likely begin in mid-to-late November. Once it begins, I really won’t have another significant break until the Paralympics are over. In the meantime, I’m getting back to some general strength workouts. This is going to help tremendously once the real thing happens. If I don’t prepare now, the reintroduction to training will not be pretty. I need to do a little something now so the fall training pain won’t hurt as bad.

I’m going for my sixth games and will have an opportunity to add two additional medals to my athletic resume. Although fall training is tough, when you have medals and memorable moments on the line, you’ll do anything to experience those things. It’ll be a grind over these next few months, but I’m here for all the pain.

Out of the grit and grind is where I find my wings. That is what helps me fly.
